Weather Forecast: Warming in Sverdlovsk Region
The abnormally cold January in the region will be replaced by a gradual temperature rise in the coming days.

A gradual warming is expected in Sverdlovsk Region after an abnormally cold January. According to weather forecasters, 24 January will be the last day with severe frosts.
«The ridge of the anticyclone is moving south, yielding the territory of Sverdlovsk Region to the influence of a cyclone coming onto the continent in the area of the Polar Urals. A gradual warming is beginning in the region,» said Alexey Pulin, author of the Telegram channel «Weather in Yekaterinburg.» «However, the air temperature will rise quite slowly, but in the future, each subsequent day is expected to be warmer than the previous one.»
The Ural Hydrometeorological Center presented a detailed forecast:
- 24 January: variable cloudiness, no precipitation, daytime temperature -21°C (-6°F).
- 25 January: no precipitation, nighttime -26°C (-15°F), daytime -18°C (0°F).
- 26 January: no precipitation, nighttime -24°C (-11°F), daytime -16°C (3°F).
- 27 January: light snow only in the north of the region, no precipitation expected in Yekaterinburg, nighttime -22°C (-8°F), daytime -14°C (7°F).
- 28 January: no snowfalls are expected in the region.
Recall that since mid-January, abnormal cold has set in in Sverdlovsk Region. Temperatures dropped below -30 degrees Celsius (-22°F), and in the north of the region — below -40 degrees Celsius (-40°F). Due to severe frosts, some schoolchildren were transferred to distance learning, and the streets of Yekaterinburg became empty.
