Auction for Former Yaroslavl Clinic Extended Due to Lack of Bidders

In Yaroslavl, the deadline for submitting applications for the auction to sell the building of the former Clinic No. 1 at Moscow Prospekt, 43/10 has been extended. Initially, the auction date was set for January 30. However, the application deadline has been extended to March 2, and the auction is planned for March 5. This information has been published on the website of the Russian Auction House.
“The L-shaped building is located 1.6 km (1 mile) from the historical center of Yaroslavl, with its facade facing the city«s largest transport artery — Moscow Prospekt. The surrounding development consists of low- and mid-rise buildings dating from the period of the avenue»s construction in the 19th–20th centuries, as well as modern structures. The transport and pedestrian accessibility of the property is excellent, with parking possible in the building«s inner courtyard and on the adjacent plot near the building,” the announcement states.
The lot includes several objects: a two-story hospital building with an area of 1,770.5 square meters (19,050 square feet), which is a cultural heritage site of local significance “The Building of the Children«s Nikolaevsky Shelter,” dating from 1855, 1862, 1903. A fluorography building with an area of 118.5 square meters (1,275 square feet), a garage of 47.6 square meters (512 square feet), a shed of 57.2 square meters (615 square feet), and the land on which the building is located. The total area of the plot is 2,023 square meters (21,770 square feet).
The building of the former clinic on Moscow Prospekt originally belonged to Yaroslavl merchant Alexei Trunov. He loved children very much, and at some point decided to give his own house on what was then Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street for the needs of a shelter, which was solemnly opened in 1858. In 1904, with donations from Yaroslavl benefactors, the shelter was expanded.
The entire property is valued at a minimum of 88,829,738 rubles (approximately $888,300 at current rates). To participate in the auction, a deposit of 8,882,973 rubles 80 kopecks (approximately $88,800 at current rates) must be made. The historical building will go to the auction participant who offers the highest price for the property.
However, in reality, there were previously no willing buyers to acquire the former clinic in Yaroslavl. It was even necessary to reduce the price for the building, which was urgently closed and declared dilapidated in the summer of 2023.
Instead of a stationary clinic, Governor Mikhail Evraev promised to build new modular clinics on Gogol and Melnichnaya streets. The construction on Gogol Street ultimately resulted in a criminal case.
Meanwhile, experts explained why it would not be possible to quickly sell the former clinic on Moscow Prospekt.
