At the end of January in Dzerzhinsk, deputy of the local city duma Yevgeny Monakhov was detained.
The exact reasons for the detention are not disclosed. According to data from Telegram channels, the politician was taken right in the public reception office of the «United Russia» party. He is currently in a pre-trial detention center.
According to unconfirmed information, the detention may be related to an investigation into commercial bribery in the distribution of seats in the city duma. In the summer of 2025, political technologist Mikhail Khaluga and executive secretary Maria Kilina were already arrested in this case.
Representatives of «United Russia» and the Dzerzhinsk City Duma did not provide immediate comments on the situation.
Earlier in Dzerzhinsk, a verdict was handed down to the head of the local Ministry of Emergency Situations department, who was accused of bribery and abuse of official authority.
