Sergei Tetyushkin bids farewell, recalling hospital's toughest times

A well-known doctor in Tolyatti, who long headed the hospital in the Komsomolsky district, has published an address. In it, he bid farewell to his medical colleagues and thanked everyone who worked with him as part of the same team.

27 years of work within the walls of one hospital is not just a work record; it is a history of devotion, walked side by side with a team that became my second family. A history that included both severe trials and great victories.

The strength of this team was especially evident in recent years. As early as 2019, thanks to the support of the Komsomolsky district administration and financial assistance from the management of TOAZ (Tolyattiazot), the hospital began preparing for the looming threat. And when the pandemic arrived in 2020, a COVID hospital department was deployed literally within a few days. It was a difficult time, but the team persevered, providing care to up to 400 patients. And the main pride is that no employee in the «red zone» died from the dangerous infection.

After the peak of the epidemic, a new stage began — recovery. The hospital was essentially rebuilt from scratch: they finally fixed the perpetually leaking roof and black mold, repaired and constructed a modern surgical department, and restored the park on the grounds. The institution«s life took on a new lease: together with the fitness center »SportTown,« a sports project was launched for employees, and then for all supporters of a healthy lifestyle in the district.

But the activities did not end there. The team provided assistance to residents of Donbas, collected humanitarian cargo, taught tactical medicine to mobilized personnel and employees of law enforcement agencies, and actively participated in public life.

«I am grateful to every employee for their selfless work, our cohesive management team, and everyone who has helped and continues to help us. Special thanks to the Government and the Ministry of Health of the Samara region for their constant support,» the address notes. «This is a shared victory and a shared history. I wish everyone peace, health, and well-being!», said the former chief physician.

Sergei Tetyushkin is a nutrition expert, athlete and follower of a healthy lifestyle. He also runs a blog where he publishes healthy recipes, gives recommendations on how to eat and what to do to become slimmer, healthier and more active. In recent years, he headed «City Hospital No. 4» in the Komsomolsky district, but as it became known, his contract has ended.

According to available information, the new head will be Vitaly Sibryaev. He currently heads «City Clinical Hospital No. 2 named after V. V. Banykin.»
