Two Volunteer Headquarters Set on Fire in Nizhny Tagil

Two humanitarian aid collection points for military personnel simultaneously caught fire in Nizhny Tagil. The fires occurred in the volunteer headquarters Iskra Zhizni (Spark of Life) and Vremya Deystvovat (Time to Act), which are located on Vogulskaya Street.
According to eyewitnesses, unknown individuals broke windows in both buildings and poured an incendiary mixture inside. The fires broke out on the evening of January 28 at approximately 9:00 p.m. Interestingly, while firefighters were extinguishing Iskra Zhizni, the Vremya Deystvovat headquarters caught fire.
Representatives of volunteer organizations are convinced that this was intentional arson.
«The first floor completely burned down, packages that were prepared for shipment burned. There were packages for three servicemen. For now, we are sorting everything out after the fire. The duty dispatch service has already reported that it is arson,»said at the Iskra Zhizni point.
The staff of the second headquarters were luckier — on the day of the incident, they managed to send several large batches of cargo to Donetsk.
«We shipped six orders yesterday, managed to do as much as possible, and loaded the car further in the same evening. There were no volunteers left in the headquarters, fortunately, no one was injured,»said the head of the volunteer headquarters Irina Vedernikova.
The press service of the Sverdlovsk Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) confirmed information about the fires. At Iskra Zhizni, the fire covered 20 square meters on the first floor, where window frames and property burned. The fire was extinguished in 13 minutes. At the Vremya Deystvovat point, the fire area was 3 square meters, and the fire was dealt with in two minutes. There were no casualties in either case, the causes of the incident are being established.
