How model Gretta Vedler was killed
In February 2021, Dmitry Korovin, a young man from Lipetsk, strangled his girlfriend, 23-year-old Gretta Vedler, in a room at a Moscow hotel. She ran a blog with several thousand followers, where she presented herself as a psychologist and coach. She also earned a living through escort work, so she often vacationed in Bali, Spain, and Saint-Tropez.
According to Korovin, it all happened spontaneously and by accident during a drunken quarrel over money. He thought he had pressed a pillow to his girlfriend«s face for just five seconds. In reality, he strangled Gretta, and she stopped moving. Only the next day did the young man realize he had committed a crime.
During investigative actions, the young man demonstrated how he had killed his girlfriend, and during interrogations he described in detail why he could not bury her for a long time. Where Korovin is now — more details in MSK1.RU«s exclusive video.
The young man did not want to get rid of the body and did not know how, so he decided to take it with him to Lipetsk, where both he and the deceased were from. Dmitry packed the petite Gretta into a tourist suitcase, covered her with activated charcoal and citric acid. Then he wrapped it in reinforced tape. For a year he hid Gretta«s body in a basement.
As Farrukh Sokhibov, deputy head of the Zyuzino interdistrict department of the Moscow Investigative Committee, an experienced investigator who handled the case, told MSK1.RU, arguments between the couple sometimes escalated to the point that, in a fit of anger, Korovin could start strangling Gretta. One of those scandals ultimately ended in murder.
“She was drinking wine from some strange bottle. And I had already been without a head for the third month [severely hungover], so I was drinking vodka like water,” Dmitry Korovin recalled that day. “At some point there was another incomprehensible insult toward my parents. She said: ‘You are poverty-stricken.’ I remember how, on autopilot, I grabbed her with my right hand, slipped with my foot. She fell onto the bed. I remember shouts, exclamations. I gave her a slap, I think.”
