New shocking details have emerged about the attack on two sisters in Ufa. As Chastny Report learned, the weapon — the knife a 16-year-old girl used to wound her peer and the peer«s 9-year-old sister — was purchased on a marketplace. The older of the injured girls bought it.

Asked to buy a knife and a Squid Game mask

According to the Chastny Report newsroom, the accused, Irina, asked the older of the injured sisters to buy her a knife and a mask — the same kind worn in the popular series Squid Game (18+). The girl complied with the request. It later emerged that the attacker had repeatedly come to her victims« home in that mask and sat nearby for long periods — well before the attack itself.
One theory holds that the 16-year-old perpetrator deliberately planned the attack. She allegedly took the scenario from a psychological thriller in which the chief villain forces a victim to buy a murder weapon without suspecting its purpose.
Once Irina had the knife, she went to the sisters and inflicted multiple wounds on them. The victims remain in intensive care.
Our newsroom tried to contact the Bashkortostan Investigative Committee for official comment on the case. The agency declined to disclose details, citing the fact that it cannot share such information at this stage of the investigation.
We previously reported that Irina, the attacker, entered her future victims« apartment under false pretenses — supposedly seeking moral support — but was planning to attack with a knife. In the end, both sisters are in serious condition; the older one cannot use her right hand and nearly lost her voice (her stomach and throat hurt when she strains her vocal cords).
We are collecting all the details of the incident in a dedicated topic page.
