Volgograd bloggers ride freight train, jump off at speed

A group of blogger friends from Volgograd staged an extreme ride on a freight train: they climbed into an open car during a stop, and once the train picked up speed they jumped to the ground while it was moving. The train surfers filmed the whole thing on video.

The clip was posted on social media back on 4 July, but it has only now started gaining views. Although the author claims in the description that the «video was generated by AI», the locations in the background — the railway tracks near Spartanovka (a district of Volgograd) and then the Volzhskaya Hydroelectric Power Station — are too detailed for artificial intelligence to have produced.

«We«re about to ride through such beautiful sights. It»s daytime, can you believe it? The sun is shining. We«re *** [going to have a great ride],» one of the train surfers says in the video.

During the recording the bloggers pass the camera to each other. They are seen climbing one after another into an open car loaded with bags of fertilizer. Once settled, they drink alcohol and then start behaving provocatively.

«Let«s go, boss! When are we leaving?» a blogger shouts loudly on camera.

Some time later the bloggers announce their intention to get off the train, citing an injury one of them supposedly suffered. To do so, they jump one after another from the moving car onto the ground, narrowly avoiding injury. The recording ends there.

In the comments, users noted that such actions could lead to serious consequences for the bloggers: injury or death.

«As a train driver, I get your vibe. But it«s better to travel safely: in the cab or a passenger car, as an employee or a passenger. There»s a lot that«s dangerous about this mode of travel. The overhead contact line voltage, the clearance limits of the train. One mistake — and you»ll be sliced up or burned. Don«t risk it.»

«Guys, be careful. I ride like that, and there were a couple of moments when I almost hit the overhead contact line. It«s under 27,000 volts. It arcs through the air, at a distance of literally a metre, you don»t even need to touch it.»

«A friend of mine burned to death that way. Nice work, guys.»

The V1.RU editorial team has sent the video to law enforcement agencies for assessment, as well as to the Privolzhskaya Railway (Volga Railway) with a request to conduct an investigation.

Earlier, in the Traktorozavodsky district (Volgograd), a 13-year-old schoolgirl suffered severe electrical burns after she tried to climb onto a train car in an attempt to take a selfie. She was hospitalised with burns to 75% of her body.
