On the evening of January 27 in Biysk, at house No. 103 on Sovetskaya Street, a loud crash was heard, frightening residents. According to the city administration, the incident was caused by a fire in the garbage chute.

Emergency services that arrived on scene conducted a thorough inspection, including the entrance and the damaged section of the garbage chute. Preliminary data indicates that the loud sound was caused by uneven thermal expansion of the asbestos-cement pipe due to burning. It is assumed that a flammable object may have been in the garbage container.

To rule out other versions, a canine unit was brought in for the examination. Specialists with dogs did not find traces of explosive substances.

No one was injured as a result of the incident. The damage was minor and only affected a section of the garbage chute between the third and fourth floors.
