Water has been restored to 24 homes in Chumlyak village in the Shchuchansky District, local residents reported to 45.RU. According to them, utility workers labored over the weekend in freezing weather. Water was turned back on in the homes on Sunday evening.

Recall that we previously reported that an accident occurred on Komsomolskaya Street in Chumlyak village on the night of December 30-31. About a hundred people in 24 homes have been living without water since then. Among those affected was a 97-year-old veteran.

During this time, authorities did not organize water delivery, forcing people to solve the problem on their own. Some went to the other end of the village to fetch water, while others turned to relatives and acquaintances.

Information about the restoration of water supply in Chumlyak village has not yet appeared on the social media pages of the Shchuchansky District administration. However, a 45.RU correspondent received a response to an editorial inquiry at 14:58.

«Water supply to all 24 individual residential homes, where there were previously problems with water supply due to bursts in the networks, has been fully restored. Specialists from Gorodskoye Vodoprovodzheniye LLC (City Water Supply) worked despite low temperatures. With the support of the district administration, additional equipment was brought in. During the period of fixing the bursts, residents could use water dispensing columns located within walking distance,» — reported the administration of Shchuchansky District.
