Krasnoyarsk Pensioner Wins Lawsuit After Losing Teeth and Implants

A 72-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk underwent a major dental operation — he had six teeth removed and implants from the Korean Osstem system installed. To pay for his new smile, the pensioner even took out a consumer loan: LLC «Prestige,» which owns the City Dent clinic, billed him 555,000 rubles (approximately $6,200 at current rates), and with interest, the total came to 613,000 rubles (about $6,800 at current rates).
The doctors followed the standard procedure: they removed the teeth, implanted the fixtures, placed temporary crowns, and installed gum formers. It seemed like all was well.
A month later, the implants fell out. All of them.
The man was left without teeth, without money, and with a loan to repay. He filed a lawsuit with the Sverdlovsk District Court and won.
The court terminated the contract with «Prestige» and ordered the clinic to pay up in full. The pensioner was awarded 585,000 rubles (approximately $6,500) as a refund for the botched treatment, 58,500 rubles (about $650) as compensation for loan interest, 50,000 rubles (around $550) for moral damages, and an additional 346,000 rubles (roughly $3,800) as a penalty under consumer protection law. In total — over a million rubles (approximately $11,000).
The decision has not yet taken effect and can be appealed.
In February 2025, the editors of NGS24.RU reported the story of another Krasnoyarsk pensioner who also took out a large loan for dental treatment at a different clinic.
