St. Petersburg Freezes: 27 Days of Cold Anomaly

As reported by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the FOBOS weather center, severe frosts are forecast for the region on January 31.
The weather is being shaped by the periphery of an anticyclone. In St. Petersburg, the temperature will be -12…-14°C (10 to 7°F), in the region from -11 to -16°C (12 to 3°F), and in some areas, cooling down to -20°C (-4°F) is possible.
Variable cloudiness will set in, with light snow in places. The wind will be northeasterly, with speeds of 2-7 m/s. Atmospheric pressure will rise to 775 mm Hg, which is above normal.
Frosty weather without precipitation will persist on Sunday, February 1: at night -18…-20°C (-0 to -4°F), during the day -13…-15°C (9 to 5°F).
