Moskalkova Proposes Special Border Crossing Point with Ukraine

The idea of creating a special border crossing point on the Russia-Ukraine border was voiced by Russia«s Human Rights Commissioner Tatiana Moskalkova at a meeting of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) faction on January 27.

According to her, this measure is aimed at helping citizens who are unable to return to their homeland due to expired documents. The ombudsman explained that Russians have no opportunity to leave Ukraine via other countries in the absence of diplomatic relations between the two states.

Moskalkova noted that there is already a request for the commissioner«s office to work with international organizations. Over the past year, the ombudsman»s apparatus facilitated the reunification of more than fifty families.
