Mobile internet and cellular service suffer outages in Chita

Residents of Chita have begun complaining about issues with mobile internet and cellular service. On January 27, cellular operators told Chita.ru that they had not imposed any restrictions on their end.

Mobile internet users noticed the problem on January 25 — for some, certain websites stopped loading, and for others, calls didn«t always go through. The issue does not depend on the operator or location — outages are occurring with different providers and at different addresses.

At the same time, some residents of Chita experienced the problem on the same phone at one address, while at another address everything worked fine. And for some, at the same address, MTS service, for example, did not work, while Yota was not experiencing outages.

Some subscribers of the Chita.ru Telegram channel suggested that someone is deliberately restricting service and jamming the internet.

The press services of the operators Megafon and Yota, in response to the editorial office«s question about internet problems, said that there are no restrictions on their end and the network is operating stably.

«Possible difficulties may be observed for reasons beyond our control,» the companies noted.

The operator MTS sent messages to its subscribers stating that the internet might be restricted, but noted that SMS and calls are working stably. It was not possible to obtain an official comment from the MTS press service at the time of the news publication.

In a poll by the Chita.ru Telegram channel, 6,556 people participated, 54% of them responded that everything is working for them, another 27% considered the outages temporary, and 19% could not load anything without Wi-Fi.
