Chibis explains cause of repeated Murmansk power outage

A power failure has struck the Murmansk region again, with emergency crews working to restore supply.
Governor of Murmansk Region Andrey Chibis has reported what caused the electricity to go out again in the region.
— According to power engineers, damage to a protective cable has been detected on the line. An emergency crew is already fixing the technical fault, — the governor said.
All water supply facilities and boiler houses in Murmansk are connected to power. The Northern Boiler House is also transitioning to normal operation. Importantly, we managed to prevent houses from freezing. Heating in apartments is maintained, but the heat transfer fluid needs to reach temperature.
In the closed administrative-territorial formation of Severomorsk, boiler houses are connected. In the Bolshoye Safonovo microdistrict, a technological failure has been recorded in the heating networks, and an emergency crew has begun to eliminate it.
Support points are operating for residents of Murmansk and Severomorsk, where they can charge phones, heat up food and water, and receive hot meals.
— If you need help, please do not hesitate to contact volunteers via the hotline phones: 0051 (from a mobile) or 8-800-444-00-51, ext. 2, — Chibis appealed to the citizens.
