Yaroslavl Sets Dates for Maslenitsa 2026 Celebrations
In Yaroslavl, as across Russia, Maslenitsa (Russian pancake week festival) week will take place from February 16 to 22, 2026. City authorities have already announced the traditional annual doll competition «Beauty of Maslenitsa.»
«Anyone can participate in the competition — both individual authors and author groups (family, work, school, student, mixed, etc.). The number of works submitted by participants is not limited,» clarified the Yaroslavl city hall.
Until February 10, applications can be submitted via email at yarmetodkabinet@yandex.ru or in person at the Department of Culture of the Yaroslavl City Hall, located at 78 Bolshaya Oktyabrskaya Street.
«To sum up the competition results, the founder will create a contest commission consisting of professional artists, applied arts masters, representatives of the competition founder, and folk art specialists,» as specified in the competition regulations.
All competition participants will be awarded commemorative diplomas, and the authors of the best works will also receive prizes. The exact nature of the prizes has not yet been specified.
