Weekend events in Tula: Concerts, shows, and workshops

This weekend in Tula, an extensive concert program is expected — including both theater performances and appearances by Russian celebrities, as well as a concert by popular Russian internet bloggers.

Saturday, January 31
12:00. Performance «The Frog Princess» (6+)
On the stage of the puppet theater, a Russian folk tale will be shown with amusing song monologues by the heroes, tablet puppets, and fantastic decorations. Organizers promise that the performance will appeal to both children and adults.

13:00. Interactive program «The Bird That Doesn»t Fly« (6+)
As part of the program, visitors will learn about penguins, and children will also be able to make a craft from colored paper and cardboard (materials provided by the organizers). The storytelling will utilize artistic works and popular science books.

18:30. Monoperformance «I Love — and Therefore, I Live!» (12+)
The monoperformance is dedicated to the work and life of Vladimir Vysotsky and is organized ahead of the memorial day of the Soviet poet and bard. At the heart of the presentation is the story of his relationship with Marina Vlady through the lens of Vysotsky«s works.

19:00. SHAMAN «30 Years on Stage» (6+)
34-year-old singer from Novomoskovsk Yaroslav Dronov, better known as SHAMAN, marks his 30th anniversary on stage. He first began performing at age 4 when his parents took him to a local vocal and pop ensemble.
On stage, his well-known hits will sound again — «I Am Russian,» «Let»s Stand Up,« »My Russia,« and so on.

Ticket prices range from 3,500 to 9,000 rubles (approximately $39 to $100 at current rates).
19:00. Concert by the band Mjød «10th Anniversary» (16+)
For Tula residents, the metal-folk band «Mjød,» whose name literally translates to «mead,» will perform. It first appeared in 2016 and releases songs on Scandinavian themes.

Sunday, February 1
10:00. Interactive «Yum-Yum Show» (6+)
Visitors will be able to see how various animals and birds eat and ask many questions — for example, why a boa constrictor eats once every two weeks, how birds find food, and so on. The program is designed primarily for families with children.

12:00. Performance «Two Baba Yagas» (6+)
Viewers are promised a musical, cheerful, and kind fairy tale about one of the most popular characters in Russian folklore.

13:00. Workshop «I Want to Fly!» (6+)
The workshop program includes a joint viewing of the cartoon «The Flying Ship,» a story about the creation of other fantastic flying vehicles, and a craft — your own flying ship made from colored paper. All materials are provided by the organizers.

19:00. Bloggers« concert »Tsu e fa« (6+)
Well-known Russian internet bloggers Zhenya Lizogub, Milana Nekrasova, David Turov, and Lera Simka will perform for Tula residents. They will invite visitors to dance to tracks like «Wednesday Girl» and «Esh Esh.»
For their performance, the bloggers charge from 999 to 5,000 rubles — that is the ticket price (approximately $11 to $56 at current rates).
