Omsk cashier's warmth finds huge online following

«Hi there, my little fireflies!» — this affectionate greeting comes from the 50-year-old blogger from Omsk when she addresses her followers. Just a month and a half ago, Svetlana«s life was a gray routine of »work-home,« but now tens of thousands of people eagerly await her sincere videos. In her eyes, despite the fatigue from 12-hour shifts at the Magnit supermarket, shines genuine happiness.
How loneliness turned into a sea of light and love, which she now broadcasts on social media, is the subject of this report by Anastasia Vlasova.
The cashier with an open smile

Svetlana«s day begins at the checkout counter, where morning shoppers rush: »I stand at the cash register until the second seller arrives, then I go to unpack and stock the goods.«
Her hands not only swiftly scan purchases but also neatly arrange packages on the shelves, tidying up to make everything «pretty and neat.» But what every visitor remembers most is her open, kind smile and eyes sparkling with happiness.
During breaks between shifts, the cashier takes out her phone to record a heartfelt video or read hundreds of warm comments from her followers. She films her Reels not only at work but also at home. In just a month and a half, over 30,000 people have subscribed to her. The secret to her success is kindness and sincerity.
However, this wasn«t always the case. A month and a half ago, her daily life was completely different.
The road to Omsk: from Kazakhstan via the countryside

Svetlana«s journey began far from Omsk: »We lived in Kazakhstan with my parents. My mom and dad had a large family: eight children, and I am the second oldest.«
After school, she enrolled in a local agricultural technical school. However, a year later she got married, which forced her to drop out.
«In 1995, I moved with my parents and husband to the Kormilovsky District. The work there was anything but easy: I worked on a farm, sometimes as a milkmaid, sometimes tending to calves. During my time in the district, I had three children: two sons and a daughter. About 10 years ago, when villages began to fall apart and the children grew up, they moved to the city and started telling me to move there too. To be closer to them.»

Eight years ago, the decision to move to Omsk was not an easy one.
«I kept worrying about how I would live in a rented apartment. My children explained to me that many people live in rented places, so I took the risk and went.»
After the move, she quickly found work, but her soul was searching for something more.
Life before the blog

After moving, her days were all the same and passed quietly, almost imperceptibly.
«Before I started the blog, my days followed the same plan: work — home, work — home. I»d come home, eat, chat with the kids, spend a little time on my phone, watch a film, and go to sleep. On weekends, cleaning, laundry, watch TV, rest, and then start all over again.«
She admits she was never able to make friends in Omsk.
«I have no friends. I don»t know why it turned out that way. I«m always kind to everyone, but I don»t have real friends. After work, despite interacting with customers, I was left with a slight sadness that there was no close person.«
Her children, who have their own families, couldn«t be with her every day. And even though almost all of them live nearby, they couldn»t meet often. Her husband, who was also her first love, died many years ago. After that, Svetlana tried to build a new relationship, but nothing worked out. She admits she is not currently looking for a man.
«Mom, you»re bored«

Change came from where she least expected it. The idea was suggested by her middle son, who was particularly worried about his mother.
«He says to me, »Mom, you«re bored, you»re lonely on your own. We still rarely visit you anyway.« And to somehow brighten the situation, he suggested I start a blog on TikTok. At first, the idea seemed scary to me. I didn»t even know what this field was.«
Her son became a patient teacher and support. They recorded the first video together; he gave tips on what to do and how.
«I was scared, I thought that if my blog did grow, it would be gradually.»
But social media algorithms decided differently. In just a month and a half, over 30,000 people subscribed to the new blogger. People from Omsk and all corners of Russia comment on her videos.
«I just started talking about work, about memories from my childhood in Kazakhstan. About funny incidents from life. I»m happy that the comments are positive. Everyone loves me, everyone liked it, that makes me so happy.«

Her sincerity and nostalgic stories resonated with people of all ages.
«I think people lack warmth these days. That»s why everyone likes old, good, kind memories. Younger people often write, «Oh, my mom told me about that too!»«
Recently, the cashier shared with her followers how they prepared for New Year«s in her childhood: »Before the holiday, dad would go to the forest to get a Christmas tree, and we would sit by the window and wait for him like he was a wizard. Dad would return, frozen, with a fluffy fir tree and pull candies out of his pocket: «The bunny gave these to us.» We were so happy; for us, those candies seemed magical and the tastiest ever.«
After her sudden popularity, people started recognizing her on the street and in the store.
«It seems to me that people look at me differently from the outside. Many recognize me in the store, come up and say »you«re so cool,» «you»re great,« »keep it up,« »good luck to you.« It»s so nice.«
Reaction of loved ones

Not everyone around her immediately accepted her new hobby. Colleagues looked on with bewilderment: «For some, it does look strange, yes. Many wish me luck, but some look at it a bit askance. Relatives were skeptical; at first, they said it was nonsense and nothing would come of it.»
But when real success came, opinions changed: «Now everyone is happy for me, they wait for each of my videos.»
She is especially touched by her children«s reaction; they became her main support. Her middle son continues to help with technical issues: »I consult with him; he sometimes tells me what to reply in the comments.«
The blogger has three children in total: an older son who lives in Omsk and a younger daughter in St. Petersburg.
«Of course, everyone is happy for me, everyone is pleased. I think they»re proud of me.«
«There»s not a moment of peace«

«Now there»s not a moment of peace. I«m constantly thinking about what interesting thing to do, tell, present, film. I don»t even get tired because life is filled with meaning and communication.«
With the appearance of the blog, everything changed dramatically.
«Life has become much, much more interesting. I»ve made many friends, followers. Because of this, I feel inspired. There«s practically no negativity. Of course, I»m afraid of getting a negative comment; it«s unpleasant. But if they write them, I will still strive for the best.»
The first material fruits have also appeared — advertising offers. Followers send gifts, which she carefully saves for a New Year«s unboxing. Looking at everything that»s happening, she is cautiously making plans: «I would like to earn a little from this in the future.»
Currently, her salary at the store is 35,000 rubles (approx. $385). With this money, she pays for her rented apartment and treats herself to tasty things.
One of her biggest wishes for the future is to meet her followers and make new friends. She continues to film videos on TikTok and Instagram*, and also runs a Telegram channel where she shares her thoughts.
The story of the 50-year-old blogger can be called a guide to overcoming routine, loneliness, and the fear of the new. It reminds everyone that sincerity and kindness are the most in-demand content. And that sometimes the greatest gift is the opportunity to tell your story and find out you are not alone, that your simple joys and memories find an echo in hundreds of thousands of hearts.
Last spring, NGS55.RU published a story about another blogger who quit his job at a factory and started making videos.
In early November, our colleagues told the no less heartfelt story of a 63-year-old cashier at a Novosibirsk «Vkusno — i tochka» (Tasty — Period) outlet. Read about how he became an internet sensation.
