Criminal case launched over video of Ufa teacher beating student

Ufa investigators have opened a criminal case after seeing a recording in which a local teacher hits a student with a belt. The incident occurred at Lyceum No. 161, where the prosecutor«s office is also conducting an inspection.

The criminal case was initiated under the article «Failure to fulfill the duties of raising a minor, combined with cruel treatment». Recall that in the video, the teacher hits a 7th-grader with a belt and then kicks him in the rear. The author of the recording noted that the teacher punished the student for disrupting the lesson. The video captures the laughter of other students.

«During monitoring of social media, a message was identified that at a Ufa lyceum during a lesson, a teacher used physical force against a 7th-grader,» the press service of the Bashkortostan Investigative Committee reported. «Currently, investigators have organized a set of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident.»

Earlier, UFA1.RU had already requested a comment from the lyceum itself. The institution«s reception said that they were trying to figure out what happened and would comment later, but since then they have stopped answering calls.
