Natalya Zubarevich to Visit Kurgan

Kurgan will this week host Natalya Zubarevich, an expert on regional socio-economic development, doctor of geographical sciences, and professor at Moscow State University, according to a post on the Kurgan Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry«s group on the social network VKontakte.

Natalya Zubarevich will visit city enterprises and meet with entrepreneurs and the head of the region, Vadim Shumkov.

In April 2025, Natalya Zubarevich explained to a 45.RU correspondent how Kurgan Region achieves high economic results.

«You are doing well temporarily because all growth is due to the defense industry. And we understand that however much budget money is given to you, that’s how much growth there will be. … But this growth is artificial, based on budget funds. This must be understood very clearly. It is not Kurgan Region that is developing the defense industry. Your defense industry is being developed by the federal government. Kurgan Region has nothing to do with it. «Rostec» is developing it, not the region» — explained Natalya Zubarevich.
