He is accused of a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code, «Hooliganism, that is, a gross violation of public order expressing obvious disrespect for society.»

At the hearing, Shusharin repented and explained that he shaved his mustache not to hide from the investigation.

“As soon as I saw the video, I came to give testimony. I have a small child at home, I have a job. I ask to be left at home until the trial,” said Shusharin, wiping away tears.
With teary eyes, Yakov publicly apologized to the family of the injured boy and asked them to understand his situation:
“May I apologize? I ask for your forgiveness, I committed a foolish act. I don«t know how I would act in a situation if my son were beaten by an adult man. I want to apologize for my action. I don»t know if you will accept the apology. I did not commit this act with malicious intent, I was scared for my family. I can«t sleep now. I ask for forgiveness and ask that my daughter not be deprived of her father, to understand my situation. I am ready to compensate for all losses, ready to see a psychiatrist to determine if I am dangerous to society, if necessary. Please forgive me.”
Kristina, the mother of the injured boy, did not accept the apology and asked for the accused to be arrested.
Recall that on January 17, Shusharin was skiing at «Uktus» with his wife and child. At the foot of the mountain, a 13-year-old Vladislav, who was sliding down the mountain with a friend on a snow scooter, crashed into them. Then the man attacked the boy, began punching him in the head and torso. The boy was diagnosed with a closed head injury and a concussion.
