In Novosibirsk, police officers have identified three more suspects in an insurance fraud scheme, according to the department«s press service.
Two of the suspects are a father and daughter, whose names were used to register fictitious traffic accidents, leading to insurance payouts. The third suspect is an auto expert from a private company who falsified inspection reports for damaged vehicles.
They have been placed under travel restrictions as a preventive measure.
Searches are currently underway at the office of a company that inspects and evaluates cars damaged in accidents. Several employees and the manager have been brought to the regional police department.
In total, police have identified 17 episodes of fraud, with the suspects operating from June 2024 to January 2026. According to preliminary estimates, the damage amounted to about 6.8 million rubles (approximately $68,000 at current rates).
