19-year-old Tajik arrested in Elektrostal over fatal stabbing
A court in Elektrostal, Moscow Region, has arrested 19-year-old Imomali Turdiev, who is accused of killing a young man after a brawl on a bus. He was sent to a pre-trial detention center for two months. He partially admitted his guilt.
Imomali Turdiev, as reported by MSK1.RU, moved to Russia from Tajikistan in childhood. He completed nine grades of school and then tried to enter college, but was unsuccessful. Then he went to work as a loader at a market, and now works for a marketplace.
Imomali«s brother told MSK1.RU that he was non-confrontational and could have used the weapon only in self-defense.
The incident took place last Sunday night, January 18. According to media reports, Ilya was on a bus with friends when they saw a woman through the window and made obscene hand gestures towards her. It«s unclear what specifically provoked this; the gestures were accompanied by harsh words. Later, Ilya»s acquaintances said the gestures were meant for a female friend in a non-negative way, as part of their usual interaction.
19-year-old Imomali Turdiev reacted to this, approached the guys, and admonished them. One thing led to another, and between them a verbal conflict began, after which Imomali suggested going outside to talk.
The guys got off the bus at the «Universam» stop in Elektrostal. After that, a fight broke out. The 19-year-old native of Tajikistan had pepper spray sprayed in his eyes, and then was also shot at with a flare gun.
In response, he took out a knife and stabbed one of the attackers several times. Turdiev remained on the street, and the bus drove away with the wounded Ilya. During the ride, the driver learned that one of the passengers was seriously injured. They were unable to save the 18-year-old young man. He died in a medical facility from the injuries sustained.
Today, 18-year-old Ilya was buried in Elektrostal. The farewell took place at the morgue, where dozens of people came with bouquets of red carnations, including the guy«s college classmates.
