Vladivostok Soldier Adopts Syringe-Fed Cat from Special Military Operation

A young cat named Ada was brought to Vladivostok from the special military operation by a soldier of the 155th Brigade, a volunteer with the call sign Raider. The soldiers fed the kitten with a syringe because the mother cat died during an artillery shelling. The new family member was warmly welcomed by his wife, children, and an adult Scottish cat, according to the Primamedia website.
In addition to little Ada, five other blind kittens survived. Raider said that he and his comrades fed them with a syringe during breaks between combat missions. There were several cans of concentrated milk in their supplies. Such a task is not easy even in peaceful home conditions, but out of six kittens, four survived. Even at a young age, they actively chased mice and misbehaved with equipment.
Raider learned about the upcoming rotation and realized that he could not part with Ada. All the other kittens had already found new owners, and he considered Ada his cat. Because of this, he decided to go to Yenakievo, where the state veterinary service operates. In Yenakievo, the cat was given the necessary vaccinations and issued a passport. In her new home, she reacts slightly to loud sounds—she immediately seeks shelter, but otherwise the adaptation has gone well.
«Animals have a calming effect. They help you relax, distract from anxiety and Spartan conditions, and catch a homely mood for a while. And the need to care for lesser creatures prevents you from losing heart. Once, our unit was visited by high-ranking inspectors. Seeing the kittens at the position, one of the officers said: “I see that everything is fine with you, a psychologist is not needed”», — the publication quotes Raider.
Animals in the special military operation zone are not uncommon; they are often rescued and nursed back to health, for which they remain loyal and faithful. Raider said that some dogs warn of drone attacks, and cats, understanding their danger, even play tricks.
«A snow-white cat named Cat settled with the neighbors. And he somehow understood the danger of drones. If during a long walk he saw that a “bird” was hovering above him, he would immediately hide. After all, the operators on the other side are not fools and understand that a well-groomed white cat is clearly not a stray and could reveal the position of the units. And only when the drone flew away, the cat would come out and return home, moreover, by roundabout paths over a large radius», — the military man said.
