On Tuesday morning, February 3, Samara was paralyzed by maximum level traffic jams. Yandex.Maps showed the tenth level of road congestion.

The worst situation is on the city«s main arteries: Moskovskoye Highway and Novo-Sadovaya Street.

Serious traffic jams also formed on Aurora, Krasnoarmeyskaya, Polevaya, and Lunacharsky streets.

The situation is complicated by a large number of accidents. List of places where accidents were recorded:

  • Two accidents near the intersection of Krasnoarmeyskaya and Nikitinskaya;

  • Intersection of Bratyev Korostelyovykh Street and Turgenev Lane;

  • Intersection of Krasnoarmeyskaya and Uritsky streets;

  • Roundabout on Moskovskoye Highway (Lunacharsky Street);

  • Intersection of Aurora and Gagarin streets;

  • Novo-Sadovaya Street near the turn to the 5th Просека (5th Glade);

  • Roundabout on Moskovskoye Highway (Kirov Avenue).

    «We strongly recommend, if possible, to avoid using personal vehicles and postpone non-essential trips,» representatives of the Samara Region State Traffic Inspectorate appealed to residents.

    The cause of the traffic jams is simple and familiar—heavy snowfall. Forecasters and specialists from the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations warned about deteriorating weather conditions the day before.
