Woman accuses Surgut man of stalking and blackmail

A woman has said that for years she has been stalked and tormented by a dwarf (a man with dwarfism) from Surgut (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Russia). According to the victim, the man raped her, held her in captivity and is now blackmailing her with intimate photos.

The story began in 2016. The foreign woman had divorced and was left with two children whom she had to support on her own. But she could not find work. In desperation, she was ready to grasp at any chance.

One day a man from Surgut wrote to her on social media. He sent photographs of a two-metre-tall (about 6 ft 7 in) man in a business suit, passing them off as his own, and lied that he worked at the Federal Migration Service (UFMS) office in Surgut. At the same time, he refused video calls under various pretexts. But the woman suspected nothing.

“He spoke like the saviour of my situation: ‘Come here, I’ll help you with your documents, get you a good job. If you don’t like it, I’ll send you home, and we’ll even open a taxi company.’ Out of sheer hopelessness, I believed that illusion,” the woman says on social media.

She sent her new acquaintance copies of her documents, and he bought her a ticket to Surgut. But at the airport, the foreign woman was met by no two-metre-tall handsome man. She was approached by a 120-centimetre-tall (about 3 ft 11 in) dwarf, his brother, also a dwarf, and their mother.

“I was dumbstruck. I looked at them and could not utter a word. I was simply in shock,” she notes.

The dwarf lied to her that the man in the photo she had received had been deported and that he would be helping her now. The guest was brought to a one-room apartment with faded wallpaper. It was home to the man, his mother and his child. The next 10 days became hell for her: she was forcibly held in the apartment. To save herself, the woman lied that her child had fallen ill and that she urgently needed to return home. Then the man, she says, threatened her with a knife and forced her to undress so he could take intimate pictures. The woman did manage to fly home; her brother, whom she was too embarrassed to tell the whole horrifying story, helped with the ticket. But the dwarf began blackmailing her with those very photographs, forcing her to return to Surgut.

A month later the woman flew to Surgut again, fearing that the Surgut man would send her photos to her relatives and bring shame on her back home. He had previously managed to save all the contacts from her phone. According to the woman, her tormentor immediately took her personal documents. For nine months she was the Surgut man’s slave.

“I stopped resisting because I realised resistance was useless. I became like an automaton: I cooked, cleaned, did the laundry, looked after his child. All that time he molested me and demanded intimacy. At first he just pestered me, touching me. I pushed him away and said ‘no’. He was angry that I did not want him. I felt sickened by him.”

Once, escaping his advances, the captive jumped out of a window and broke her arm. At the hospital, the man made her say she had slipped in the bathroom.

A few days later, the girl recounts, the dwarf came home with a bag, took out a dildo and raped her with it. The victim stresses that, despite his 120-centimetre height, her tormentor was physically stronger than she was.

According to the captive, for 10 years now the Surgut man has continued to blackmail her with intimate photographs. Over these years he has extorted a large sum from the victim but has not stopped. In addition, the Surgut man created a social media page in her name where, posing as her, he offers intimate services.

The woman said she went to the police, but was officially refused a criminal case. To confirm or refute the information, a 86.RU correspondent asked the police of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area for comment. A response is awaited.
