Load capacity raised for main ice crossings on Lena River

The load capacity for main ice crossings on the Lena River has been increased to 40 tons. This was reported on February 3 in the Telegram channel of the republic«s Ministry of Transport.

Now, cargo trucks can travel on the winter road Yakutsk – Nizhny Bestyakh of the federal highway «Kolyma» and Kangalassy – Sottintsy of the road «Borogon».

Weather in Yakutia allowed for the early opening of the crossing Yakutsk – Nizhny Bestyakh on December 26, instead of the planned date – January 5. In total, 27 ice crossings are officially open in Yakutia, providing transport links between settlements. Load capacity varies from 3 to 60 tons.
