Authorities specify when bus route changes will end in Nizhny Novgorod

Public transport issues, including frequent route adjustments, continue to affect residents in Nizhny Novgorod.
Changes in public transport operations in Nizhny Novgorod are expected after the opening of new metro stations. This was stated by Deputy Transport Minister Denis Ryabinin at a meeting of the relevant committee of the Legislative Assembly on January 22.
The deputy minister delivered a report on the situation with public transport and driver staffing in Nizhny Novgorod. Deputy Tatiana Grinevich asked him when the frequent route changes would end.
‘When we launch «Sennaya» and «Ploshchad Svobody» [Freedom Square], then, perhaps, we will change routes again, some will have to be looped,’ Ryabinin was quoted by NIA «Nizhny Novgorod».
He noted that adjustments will depend on passenger flow and residents« opinions. Work will also continue on extending routes to remote and new neighborhoods.
The new metro stations in the Nagornaya part of Nizhny Novgorod are planned to be commissioned in mid-2027 (the original deadline was the end of 2025). At the construction site, tunnel work continues between Ploshchad Svobody and Sennaya. In total, six thousand brackets are planned to be installed there for securing cable lines.
