Up to 4.5-hour delays at Sochi after drone attack

A drone attack on Sochi caused a house fire in Adler and forced temporary flight restrictions at Sochi Airport on July 20, resulting in delays of up to 4.5 hours for dozens of flights.

At Sochi Airport on the morning of July 20, temporary restrictions were imposed on the arrival and departure of aircraft due to the threat of a drone attack (a house caught fire in Adler). After the restrictions were lifted, delays appeared in the schedule for both departures and arrivals.
The restrictions were imposed at 6:28 a.m., and by 7:50 a.m. the airport had resumed operations. According to the airport«s online board, at least 12 departures and 14 arrivals are delayed.
Among departures, the longest delays:

flight U6-548 to St. Petersburg — delayed by 4 hours 25 minutes;

  • flight FV-6201 to Kazan — delayed by 2 hours;

  • flight N4-411 to Kazan — delayed by 1 hour 35 minutes;

  • flight FV-6629 to Chelyabinsk — delayed by 1 hour;

  • flight N4-429 to Nizhnekamsk — delayed by 40 minutes;

  • flight SU-1111 to Moscow (Sheremetyevo) — delayed by 35 minutes;

  • flight DP-114 to Moscow (Vnukovo) — delayed by 30 minutes.

    The longest delays for arrivals were recorded for the following flights:

    flight U6-547 from St. Petersburg — delayed by 4 hours 25 minutes;

  • flight U6-1338 from Kemerovo — delayed by 2 hours 59 minutes;

  • flight N4-480 from Omsk — delayed by 2 hours 45 minutes;

  • flight FV-6202 from Kazan — delayed by 2 hours 5 minutes;

  • flight N4-412 from Kazan and 3F-349 from Yerevan — delayed by 2 hours;

  • flight FV-6126 from Tyumen — delayed by 1 hour 51 minutes;

  • flight U6-219 from Yekaterinburg — delayed by 1 hour 50 minutes.

    Flights from Moscow, Novokuznetsk, Chelyabinsk, Batumi, and other cities are also arriving late.
    Passengers are advised to check the current departure and arrival times on the airport«s online board or with their airline before heading to the airport.
