Ufavodokanal plans to build protection for its facilities at a cost of 100 million rubles. The enterprise wants to protect itself and the environment from the consequences of possible drone attacks. The corresponding tender has been published on the government procurement portal. UFA1.RU provides details.
The enterprise plans to build «kinetic protection against terrorist threats using drones.» In particular, this refers to «passive protection engineering barriers.» Apparently, these are the many nets that have already been used to surround oil storage facilities.
The facilities that need protection are those containing chlorine. This dangerous gas, if released, does not dissolve in the air because it is heavier than air. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM), chlorine spreads as a fog along the ground and penetrates the lower floors of buildings. In humans, it causes irritation of the eyes, respiratory tract, and skin. Inhaling a large amount of the gas can be fatal.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the water utility wants to protect these specific storage tanks.
The contractor will be required to produce design documentation for 100 million rubles and submit it for state expert review. This must be done on a tight schedule — the completed and approved documentation is needed by October, and the installation of structures must take place by October 31.
The contract stipulates a 5-year warranty on the work. If defects or deficiencies appear, the contractor must fix them at its own expense. The contractor will be selected in the first half of August.
