Sochi Residents Describe 'Siren Torture' in Drone Attack

Explosions and sirens were heard throughout the night in Sochi after a drone attack on the resort city, residents reported.

Sochi was targeted by a drone attack on 20 July. In the Adler district, a private home caught fire. Authorities reported no casualties and said the blaze had been extinguished. Emergency services are on site.
Locals shared on social media that they heard the first explosions around midnight. Sirens wailed in different parts of the resort. By morning, the situation remained tense—warning systems were active, booms were heard in the sky, and mobile internet was completely down. Here is what residents of the resort wrote on social media:

«There was a boom, they turned on the siren.»
«I heard something boom.»
«Something took off near us, very loud.»
«Siren torture.»
«6 explosions in 10 minutes.»
«So loud, I didn»t sleep.«
«In the morning, the internet is completely cut off to zero. Although it shows that mobile signal is there.»
Due to the drone attack, dozens of flights were delayed at Sochi airport. According to the airport«s online board, 12 departures and 14 arrivals were affected.
Also this morning, a drone attack was reported in Yeysk. Debris fell in the city, shattering windows in seven homes. Three people were injured and taken to hospital.
