The incident of a teenager riding a scooter on a memorial came to the attention of law enforcement.

In Yugorsk, a 14-year-old teenager rode a scooter on the granite slab of the «Military Glory» memorial. There, on the stele, the boy decided to smoke. He was bare-chested. All actions of the minor were captured on video and later made public. The Investigative Committee of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (the regional branch of the Investigative Committee of Russia) stated that it is conducting a procedural check.

Investigators are establishing signs of a crime under Article 243.4 of the Russian Criminal Code — desecration of monuments, steles, obelisks, and other memorial structures or objects commemorating those killed in defense of the Fatherland or its interests, or dedicated to days of Russia«s military glory. During the procedural check, the circumstances of the incident will be clarified, investigators will give a legal assessment of the teenager»s actions, and in cooperation with preventive agencies, they will check his living conditions and upbringing. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin ordered a report to be prepared.
