New Details in Pilot's Field Landing Investigation

Omsk Regional Court has upheld the decision to return the case of Sergei Belov to the prosecutor for additional investigation. In September 2023, the pilot landed a plane in a field while it was en route from Sochi to Omsk.
None of the passengers or crew members were injured. However, experts believed that the aircraft could have landed at an airport. Belov was put on trial.
In November, preliminary hearings were held in the Central District Court. Due to numerous violations in the investigation, the case was then returned to the prosecutor. The injured party attempted to appeal this decision but was unsuccessful.
«The Omsk Regional Court has left unchanged the ruling of the Central District Court to return the criminal case against Sergei Belov to the prosecutor of the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor»s Office to remove obstacles to its consideration by the court,« the united press service of the Omsk courts reported.
