A criminal case has been initiated over the death of a 16-year-old teenager inside a tank on the grounds of the «Russia is My History» museum, with investigators citing death by negligence, according to a report on the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Yakutia.

It is known that the 16-year-old teenager climbed into the tank on the museum grounds through a lower hatch in the hull. He entered the fighting compartment, where he accidentally activated the emergency gun barrel release mechanism. It struck him on the head, causing his immediate death.

It was not possible to obtain a comment from the organization«s press service at the time of publication. The prosecutor»s office is investigating the incident, as well as the actions or inaction of the museum administration.

Yakutsk Mayor Yevgeny Grigoryev expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased in his Telegram channel.
