Authorities vow to clear Sochi mudflow by evening

Cleanup efforts are continuing in Sochi after a mudflow on the territory of the Korchaginets gardening partnership.

Recall that the soil shift occurred early this morning near Gymnasium No. 9 in the Ministerial Lakes residential complex area.

According to the Sochi administration press service, 200 cubic meters of soil slid onto the road.

— Residential buildings were not damaged, only the territory of one garden plot was affected, and there is no threat to residents or buildings. City utilities are not damaged, however, resource-supplying organizations are checking the area for the presence of networks, — the message says.

Removal of the soil mass has already begun, with special equipment on site. The main volume of earth is promised to be cleared during the day if no further soil shifts occur. An alternative route is in place via Teplichnaya and Vishnevaya streets.
