Volgograd writer labeled foreign agent after move to Germany

The Russian Ministry of Justice designated Yashchenko a foreign agent because of his ties to the «Dozor in Volgograd» project.
The well-known writer and historian Vyacheslav Yashchenko has been designated a foreign agent by the Ministry of Justice. The information appeared in the register of foreign agents on Friday, 30 January.
According to information on the website of the Russian Ministry of Justice, Vyacheslav Yashchenko has been included in the list of foreign agents as a person associated with the project «Dozor in Volgograd», which is also listed as a foreign agent under Article 7 of the Federal Law «On Control over the Activities of Persons Under Foreign Influence».
Vyacheslav Yashchenko is a well-known Volgograd writer, historian, local historian and journalist. For more than 15 years, he has dedicated himself to studying the history of the rebel movement in southern Russia, which resulted in the book «Tsaritsyn Under Siege: The Terror of the Reds, Whites and Greens», which could overturn all notions about the Civil War that split society into many irreconcilable groups fighting each other to the point of mutual destruction. The book is based on authentic materials from criminal cases about the terror of the Reds, Whites and Greens in Tsaritsyn and its surroundings.
Recall that Vyacheslav Yashchenko is a well-known journalist, local historian and historian. On V1.RU, he published a series of materials about the Civil War and banditry in Tsaritsyn — Stalingrad — Volgograd. In January 2024, his home was searched in a case about fakes regarding the armed forces of the Russian Federation, after which he left Volgograd and moved to Germany for permanent residence.
Recall that earlier the Ministry of Justice designated Ivan Kurilla, a professor at Volgograd State University who emigrated to the USA, as a foreign agent.
