Volgograd residents trapped in entrance by huge puddle

Residents of house No. 32 on Dzerzhinsky Street are once again asking utility services to solve the longstanding problem of their courtyard. Every even moderately heavy rain turns the yard into an impassable swamp — water accumulates near the walls of the house, and to exit the entrance, one has to use rubber boots or perform acrobatic feats.

— This problem occurs regularly, as soon as it rains or snow begins to melt, — lament the residents of the house. — How people living in the directly flooded entrance get out of the house is hard to even imagine, but all residents pass by this puddle. Just to simply walk to the trash container area and throw out garbage. And the house, mind you, survived the Battle of Stalingrad!

The four-story apartment building No. 32 on Dzerzhinsky Street is among other houses in the microdistrict that belong to the pre-war social town for workers and employees of the Stalingrad Tractor Plant, which survived the Battle of Stalingrad. The facade of the house, facing Dzerzhinsky Street, is adorned not only with a star with a hammer and sickle but also with the inscription «In the third year of the five-year plan. 1930. STZ». The ferocity of the battles that took place in the Tractor Plant District is evidenced by numerous traces of bullet holes, shrapnel, and artillery shells, deliberately left visible in memory of the Battle of Stalingrad for future generations. In 2016, the contracting organization LLC «SK StroyKompleks» plastered and painted over three-quarters of the historical facade of house No. 32 on Dzerzhinsky Street in the Tractor Plant District of Volgograd. Only the pentagon in the upper part of the building remained untouched, where the star with a hammer and sickle and the inscription «In the third year of the five-year plan. 1930. STZ» are located.
Recall that residents complained about the flooding problem in 2023 as well. V1.RU is clarifying with the Volgograd administration the cause of the yard flooding and methods to solve the problem.
