Volgograd Residents Again Complain About Snow Generator Noise

Residents of the Gornaya Polyana settlement in Volgograd have once again faced intense noise from snow cannons operating at the local winter recreation center. The equipment for creating artificial snow was launched on the evening of February 1, immediately after the air temperature dropped.
«After the warming came a cold snap, and the cannons started humming again,» note the city residents. «Volgograd is its own country, the noise law doesn»t work on weekends, and regional authorities ignore Bastrykin«s order.»
The problem with noise from the paid tubing slope has existed for a long time. Previously, both residents of the «Coliseum» residential complex and inhabitants of Gornaya Polyana have complained about it. After an incident where children were injured, the attraction«s operation was temporarily suspended, but soon the snow generators resumed their activity.
Exhausted residents appealed with a video message to the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, after which he gave instructions to initiate a criminal case.
The owner of the winter recreation center is LLC «Akvatoria», registered in 2021 with an authorized capital of 10,000 rubles (approximately $100 at current rates). The sole founder of the company is Elena Karpenko. She is also the founder of six other legal entities, some of which are connected to the Nazarov family — large and well-known Volgograd developers.
After numerous complaints, investigators from the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd Region initiated a criminal case under the article «Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements». However, the prosecutor«s office of the Kirovsky District overturned this decision, and currently, the investigation is trying to appeal this decision in court.
