Video shows rat invasion troubling Omsk neighborhood
The video shows numerous rats, including juveniles and adults, moving freely around trash bins in Omsk.
Residents of Omsk are complaining about a massive rat invasion. According to inhabitants of the Kosmichesky district, rodents are running around both day and night. A post crying for help was published in the «Omsk Live» community on VKontakte.
“Who is fighting this? Where to run? Who to turn to?” the post«s author wonders.
In the published footage, both small and adult specimens can be seen. Moreover, they feel quite calm, run around, and are not afraid of people.
“Here«s how many rats we have, near our garbage bin. A whole bunch,” the camera operator comments on the situation.
Under the post, the Omsk Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) left a response and explained that in this case, rodent extermination needs to be carried out.
“This set of measures for rodent extermination should be carried out by homeowners associations, management companies in the territories of apartment buildings, the city administration on city-wide territories, and legal entities and individuals on territories under their ownership.”
The agency added that if responsible persons do not take measures, then a complaint should be filed with them.
