Attack on REN TV Journalists in Santiago
A Russian TV channel's filming crew was attacked in the capital of Chile. The incident happened on their first day of work in the city.

Journalists from the REN TV channel were victims of an attack in Santiago de Chile. According to preliminary information, the assailant attempted to steal the filming crew«s equipment.
Host Alexei Korzin described the incident on January 31: «Our very first day in Santiago ended in a brawl. Now we were attacked. Naturally, we fought back. Our phones are with us. The only thing is that our Zhenya (the operator — Ed.) was injured, my lip was cut, and I was hit on the head with a bottle.»
Korzin added that the attacker at some point grabbed a knife. The event occurred in the central district of the city, near the wholesale market Mercado de Abasto Tirso de Molina, which is located on the northern bank of the Mapocho River in the Recoleta commune.
«All this happened here, right in the center. No matter how I called the police, we did not see the police,» the journalist stated, noting that the group had to leave the scene.
The recording of the attack itself was not published. It is unknown whether the victims contacted the police after the incident.
