On January 31, a suspect was detained in the case of the death of a nine-year-old child in a well in Nyazepetrovsk. This refers to the head of the property relations department of the local administration, who is planned to be charged.
According to information from the city«s official website, this department was headed by Alena Gorokhova. Investigators believe that she was negligent by failing to identify an abandoned well on Yuzhnaya Street. It was into this flooded collector, left unsupervised, that the boy fell.
«In the near future, the local administration employee will be charged,» the Investigative Committee (SK) reported. «The investigation plans to petition the court for arrest.»
For her actions, the woman faces punishment under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Russian Criminal Code. This article provides for negligence leading to a person«s death, with sanctions ranging from forced labor to five years in prison.
The incident occurred on January 28. The child went missing on the way to school, after which calls for help in the search began to spread on social networks. The body was found in a well that was covered with linoleum and snow. The deceased was from a large family, where besides him, two younger children are being raised. A criminal case for causing death by negligence had been opened earlier.
