Imported Cucumbers and Peppers Drive Up Vladivostok Prices

Cucumbers and peppers in Vladivostok are selling for up to 1,500 rubles ($15) per kilo, with produce arriving from Azerbaijan and Iran.

The price of cucumbers and peppers continues to surprise: in Remy City, these vegetables can be found for a thousand rubles per kilo ($10). Peppers arrived in Vladivostok from Iran, while gherkins grew in the vast expanses of Russia.
A kilo of gherkins will cost 1,199 rubles ($12), packaged on a tray with 5-6 pieces, quite large. And cucumbers of the «Patron» variety will cost 1,499 rubles ($15) per kilo, grown in Azerbaijan. Peppers came to Primorye from Iran, costing 999 rubles ($10) per kilo, also packaged on a tray.
The Patron F1 cucumber is a high-yielding parthenocarpic hybrid of Dutch selection. The cucumber grows to 10-12 cm in length and weighs 140-160 grams. It has smooth, glossy skin without bumps.
In December 2025, the cost of cucumbers in large retail chains in Vladivostok varied by about 20 rubles for each variety or producer. The most expensive kilogram was in Samberi, the most advantageous — in Pyaterochka. The average price was 299 rubles ($3) per kilo. Such ones are still sold now.
