Sewage Floods KGSHA Student Campus

In the Trans-Urals village of Lesnikovo in Ketovsky District, sewage has flooded the student campus of the Kurgan State Agricultural Academy (KGSHA). Photos of the flowing sewage appeared on social media on February 1.

«For several days in a row, sewage has been gushing from underground (from a new collector built in 2024)! The smell is spreading; it»s impossible to walk on the stadium with children and pensioners. It«s unbearable! And the worst part: all this sludge is flowing directly into the Tobol River,» writes the author of one of the posts in the «Real Kurgan» group.
A resident of KGSHA confirmed the accident in a conversation with a correspondent from 45.RU.
«We»re floating and drowning. This is our long-standing «happiness», sewage trucks are brought in from everywhere, they drain, suffocate us and the area. And from time to time, we float,« wrote the interlocutor.
The press service of Kurgan State University reported that the leak occurred not on the new collector, but on an old gravity-flow pipe. The accident was fixed late in the evening on February 1.
KGU notes that the sewage did not reach the Tobol River. The cause of the pipe burst was a garbage blockage. During its removal, rags, hygiene items, and other trash that residents flush down the toilet were extracted. Specialists are asking residents not to dispose of waste not meant for such disposal.
