In 1896, his son Nikolai joined the business. At the same time, in the central part of Nerchinsk, the construction of the family«s trading estate, a complex for conducting large-scale trade, began.
The Kolobovnikovs« store was distinguished by a rich selection of goods. Customers were offered textiles, footwear, haberdashery, crystal products, and much more. Sales were conducted both retail and in wholesale batches. Products were delivered from the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, from Verkhneudinsk (now Ulan-Ude), Moscow, as well as from abroad, highlighting the scale of the family»s trade connections. The family business flourished.
In addition to trading activities, the Kolobovnikovs established flour milling production, thereby strengthening their influence on the economic life of the city.
