Meteorologists in Volgograd Issue Urgent Warning on Abnormal Frosts
Bitter cold will persist in the Volgograd region for five full days, according to an emergency weather warning.

The Volgograd Hydrometeorological Center issued an emergency warning about abnormally cold weather on Sunday afternoon, February 1, 2026. According to meteorologists, biting frosts will last for the next five days.
“From February 2 to 7, 2026, a dangerous meteorological phenomenon is expected in the Volgograd region — abnormally cold weather (average daily air temperature is 10–15°C below the ten-day norm),” the agency«s warning states.
The frosts will begin already tonight. According to meteorologists, overnight into Monday, precipitation in the form of snow and wet snow is expected across the region, with light snow during the day. Overnight temperatures will be -12 to -17°C (10 to 1°F), and in the north — -22 to -27°C (-8 to -17°F). During the day, -6 to -11°C (21 to 12°F), and in the north of the region -14 to -19°C (7 to -2°F). Additionally, on the evening of February 1, ice is expected, with complex ice and frost deposits combined with winds up to 20 meters per second.
On February 3, overnight and in the morning, snow, heavy in places. Icy roads, snowpack. Overnight across the region -12 to -17°C (10 to 1°F), in the north of the region even colder — down to -27°C (-17°F). During the day -8 to -13°C (18 to 9°F), in places down to -19°C (-2°F).
The coldest will be on February 4. Overnight down to -25°C (-13°F), and with clearing, the air could cool to -32°C (-26°F). During the day, they promise -13 to -18°C (9 to 0°F), in places down to -22°C (-8°F).
In Volgograd on February 2, overnight light snow, during the day no precipitation. Overnight -16°C (3°F), during the day -10°C (14°F).
On February 3, overnight heavy snow, during the day precipitation intensity will decrease, it will become slightly warmer — overnight -13°C (9°F), during the day -11°C (12°F).
Overnight into February 3, it will get colder. Overnight -22°C (-8°F), during the day -16°C (3°F). Then the temperature will begin to rise slightly, and by Friday afternoon they already promise -4°C (25°F).
