Blizzard

Head of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov commented on the blizzard that covered Tatarstan and Kazan over the weekend, with Plan «Buran» in effect here. He also instructed to close roads for buses and heavy trucks in case of worsening weather.

“When there are no roads, when they are not cleared, people have many, many complaints against the authorities. We need to organize round-the-clock work,” he stated.

Mechanic of racing team returns home after 4 months

Alexei Artamonov, a mechanic for the racing team «PSM Sport» from Vladimir, who was beaten into a coma in Kazan, has returned home. In December, the team reported on its Telegram channel that the case had been transferred to another police department, and the investigation period was extended until February 10. Alexei«s colleagues believe that the video of the incident was not properly examined. However, no official comments have been made yet.

Sale of limeberry

In Kazan, they caught on to a sweet trend from social networks — some sellers now have large green strawberries called limeberry (this is freeze-dried strawberries dried at low temperatures, coated with chocolate glaze flavored and colored like lime — hence the name).

Thus, limeberry recently appeared in a tea shop at the Port shopping center and in a small store in Usady. Judging by social media posts, the dessert sells out fairly quickly.

Kamila Valieva failed to advance to the final of the Russian Jumping Championship. This is her first tournament after disqualification. This was reported by Sport24.

Valieva finished her performance with a score of 53.33 points, showing the worst result among the semi-finalists. The tournament medals will be contested by Alisa Dvoeglazova (with 72.81 points), Dina Khussnutdinova (65.62), and Daria Sadkova (63.45).

Ganvest concert

Rapper Ganvest (real name — Ruslan Gominov) — the author of those viral meme phrases — will come to Kazan for a concert. As Ganvest himself explained on one of the shows, these phrases came to him in a dream. They quickly spread across social networks and acquired their own meanings: “shneyne” is “Chanel”, “pepe” is dad or the frog Pepe, “fa” means approval, and “vtfa” — dissatisfaction.

The concert will take place at the Zoloto restaurant in Kazan on February 7. It starts at 23:00. On the ticket sales website, only six seats remain, with a ticket price of 2000 rubles (approximately $22).

Janitor attacks passerby

In Kazan, a janitor who had previously been convicted for the murder of two or more persons (clause «a» part 2 article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) stabbed a man because he was drinking alcohol near the entrance, despite the janitor«s request not to do so. The victim»s acquaintances called an ambulance, and he was taken to the hospital with an abdominal wound and head injuries.

The Sovetsky District Court sentenced him to four years of imprisonment in a strict-regime correctional colony.

Remote learning

The city hall announced that on February 2, lessons in schools will again be held remotely. In educational institutions and kindergartens, only duty classes and groups will operate. On Saturday, children also did not come to lessons.
