The Setter«s coffee shop, considered one of the iconic establishments in Rostov-on-Don, has ended its operations. This was announced by its owner and restaurateur Vladimir Bektemirov, citing a steady decline in customer flow.
The coffee shop remained operational until its final day on January 31.

On social media, Bektemirov explained: «We are closing Setter»s. In fact, this has been going on for quite a while, and the closure was inevitable. The drop in guest traffic has been ongoing for the second year. On one hand, a legend is leaving, a cool project that remained in the hearts of many. On the other hand, we don«t want to abandon it, and in its place, we have already come up with a new cool story.»
The restaurateur noted that a project with a different concept will appear in the vacated space. «Therefore, we»re picking up the pieces as quickly as possible and preparing for productive work,« he added.
Setter«s had two branches: at 181 Pushkinskaya Street and 81 Moskovskaya Street. The coffee shop was long perceived as a landmark place for the city.
The last working day was January 31. Under the owner«s announcement on social media, many visitors expressed regret over the closure.
One of the commentators wrote: «Without the drama and a new concept — that»s great. But Setter«s is like a part of identifying oneself as a Rostovite. It»s a calm, cozy place where no one ever rushed, and you understood that you didn«t need to either.»
Vladimir Bektemirov became the owner of the coffee shop in 2025. Earlier, in November of the same year, he stated in an interview that he did not plan to change the concept, but saw the need to develop the main menu, besides the coffee selection.
This closure occurred as part of a general trend. In 2025, restaurants Age, Ami Osteria, Memories, Leto, Mama Donna, Dhaba, Sababa and others ceased operations in Rostov. In early January, several intimate establishments also ended their activities. Specialists link the wave of closures to the economic crisis and increased tax burden for business.
