Frosts down to -30 and strong wind forecast for Murmansk Oblast on Monday

According to the Murmansk Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, variable cloudiness with no significant precipitation is expected in the region on February 2. Frost is possible in some areas.

The wind will be southwesterly, moderate, and will intensify at night in some districts. Blowing snow at ground level is also possible.

Air temperatures during the day and at night will range from -10 to -15 degrees Celsius (14 to 5°F), with some areas cooling to -18...-23°C (0 to -9°F). The most severe frosts are expected at night in the central and southern parts of the oblast: during clear spells, temperatures may drop to -25...-30°C (-13 to -22°F).

Icy conditions will persist on the roads, and drivers and pedestrians are advised to be especially careful.
