Five Tyumen residents killed in special military operation identified

Officials in Russia's Tyumen region have announced the names of five more local residents killed in the conflict. The list includes a Chechnya veteran and a search and rescue volunteer.

The Tyumen region reported five residents killed in the special military operation. This was announced by official agencies on their social media pages.

Yesterday, the administration of Yalutorovsk reported the death of Yevgeny Shagin. In 1995, he served in Chechnya and returned, but in 2000 he went back to serve under contract. After his military service, he worked at enterprises in Yalutorovsk. In 2024, Yevgeny went to the special operation zone, where he was killed. His funeral was held on January 20.

The Artur Olkhovsky Regional Search Center reported that Andrei Cherkasov, a member of the «Krechet» (Tyumen) and «Otchizna» (Tobolsk) search teams, was also killed in the special military operation. He died on October 17, 2025, and will be buried in Tyumen today, January 20.

On January 4, Denis Shabunin, born in 1982, was buried in the village of Karasul. He was also killed in the special operation. This was reported by the administration of the Ishim district.

In the Yalutorovsk district, two more deceased servicemen, whose names had not been previously announced, were posthumously awarded. They are Vladimir Nikolaev from the village of Stary Kavdyk and Pavel Garmanov from Berdyugino.

Earlier we reported that the names of three Tyumen residents killed in the special military operation were made public. The youngest among them was 22 years old.
