A drone was shot down over Stavropol Krai on February 2 during a series of interceptions by Russian air defense.

An enemy drone was shot down over the territory of Stavropol Krai by air defense on duty tonight. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense after a night of drone threat in the region.

Recall that the alert regime was introduced the previous evening, February 1, at 19:11. Governor Vladimir Vladimirov warned residents about a possible threat and urged them to remain calm.

The restrictions were in effect all night. At 06:12 on the morning of February 2, the air raid alert was called off in the krai, and the drone threat regime was lifted.

However, as follows from the official summary of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the danger was not formal. According to the department, over the territory of Stavropol Krai, one Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle of aircraft type was shot down. It was destroyed by air defense on duty.

In total, on February 1 from 18:00 to 23:00 Moscow time, air defense intercepted and destroyed 23 unmanned aerial vehicles over different regions of southern Russia.

The majority of the drones were shot down:

over Krasnodar Krai — 12 UAVs;

  • over the waters of the Azov Sea — 5;

  • over Belgorod Oblast — 3.

    One more drone was destroyed over each of the following:

    Stavropol Krai;

  • the Chechen Republic;

  • the waters of the Black Sea.

    No information about destruction or casualties on the territory of Stavropol Krai has been received.
